Labs

So they want to try and verify my type of diabetes some more again. So they tested antibodies and c-peptide again. The lab put in the antibodies wrong- they tested me for antibodies seen in people with RA! I hope those don't come back positive.

It looks like they forgot the c-peptide too.

In other news, my cholesterol looks ok, but my LDL is higher than I want (and no, let's not have that discussion again).
Total: 178
HDL: 42
LDL: 119
Trig: 84

My cardio CRP is still way high (ffeeeehh).

My a1c was 5.5%.

Everything else looks good.

No more LDL please! Between my LDL and my hs-CRP a statin is almost definitely in my near future.

Gee Christine, I don't think I've *ever* seen you post your A1c... I'm really surprised you did that!

Good job, girl!

Your LDL is still below normal. Could anything else be raising the CRP? Maybe you should have a heart scan done, to see if calcification is infact an issue.

Funnygirl,

When I have specifically requested a test and the dr concurs, I consider a failure to have the test performed properly an error on the part of the medical practice or test lab. It is entirely appropriate to request that the test be redone and run again without charge. Why don't you consider calling your dr. and requesting that?

ps. I think your cholesterol is a little low as well, specifically your HDL. I suggest some fish oil tablets twice a day and a healthy glass of dry red wine in the evening.

Congrats, Christine, on a FANTASTIC A1c!
I'm sorry the lab screwed up on the C-peptide and didn't perform it. Are you being re-tested?

It looks like the c-peptide was done, the results just aren't back yet. I do think they screwed up on one of the antibodies though. It really doesn't surprise me they made a mistake. They didn't know what the doctor meant, and I was trying to explain and they kept hushing me telling me they need to know from the doctor. Then while discussing this she interrupted me to order her lunch. And then she went back to yelling at me saying my doctor needs to be more specific. All in all, I was at the lab an HOUR AND A HALF.

Maybe you should have told her where to put her lunch-- in her mouth of course!
