Poll: Blood Group and Diabetes

I am a recently diagnosed t1, My blood group is fairly rare (b neg). I am white (I state this merely because my blood group is associated with ethnic minorities). I would like to know if diabetes is more prevelant in some blood groups than others (supposedly in hispanics etc).

O+ caucasian, light-haired, fair-skinned, blue-eyed type 1 here. (There was a poll that showed a seemingly-disproportionate number of blue-eyed people having diabetes...)

I like your idea for a poll, though.

post-DX A1c = 5.4% @ 2008/07; 5.2% @ 2008/04; 5.3% @ 2007/12; 5.3% @ 2007/08

current BMI = 26.0 (86kg on 182cm); want to get back to 23-24
basal = NPH and Levemir, ~35U daily (I really should start a thread)
bolus = 1:15 I:C ratio; varying mix of aspart, human R, human N

not a low-CHO eater... not even close!

Thanks, the results will be interesting i feel.

There was only 12 options though for polling. So if a t2 wants to do a poll of what grp t2s most are that would be cool to.

If t2s could refrain from polling in this though, and setup their own poll that would be great (to keep a controlled experiment).

Would be awesome if it could stickied to.

Martin

BTW my mother is super rare as she has no positive or negative attached to her grp. I would like to know if anyone elses parents are likewise. I am strange I know

BTW: I am brown eyed, brown haired and dark, white (skin) you could say. Both my parents are Polish, though my father was born in modern day Ukraine. And my surname supposedly is the name of a central european group of gypsies which played the bagpipe. Eeek!

Other non diabetic polls/studies on whether blood group influences eyes/hair/skin colour would be most interesting. If anyone has any links please post them!

No real trend in the poll developing atm, lets see how it progresses!

A+, white as they come (I practically glow in the dark), blue/green eyes, naturally redd-ish blondy brown hair. Irish, English, Scottish, Welsh blood... I have no chance of tanning, ever.
