Exclamation Dui

My boyfriend refused to let me drive home last night because of my high blood sugar. He told me that I could get a DUI, if i was ever pulled over for driving low or high. Is this really true???

Yes, it is very possible, especially if your bf thought you appeared drunk. One time when I was in traffic court waiting for my case to come up another defendant tried using high bg's as an excuse. The judge did not buy it regardless of the accuracy of a BA in the presence of high bg's. He said if he was that high he should not be driving anyway. Then he hammered him with the max fine. So your boy friend did good!

i could totally see getting a DUI charged with high blood sugars..cuz just atleast for me when i've got high blood sugar i tend to act the same way i do when i'm drunk, minus the blurred vision.

I would think they would be more inclined to think you are driving drunk if your bs was low.

I do drive when I am high, but only if I am feeling OK.
