| | | NO! Dumb! (RANT) :sigh:
Dumb thought #1. I get so sick of being nauseous and running kinda low all week, and I had a "lo" reading last night (scary!), so I thought "well maybe I should up my carbs a little today just to be safe".
Dumb thoughts #2 and #3. I figure I can sneak a donut since I am home alone. and "surely it has enough fat to slow down the carbs on board". (I obviously can't be trusted alone.)
Dumb action #1. ONE donut, turns into TWO, of course.
Dumb realization: if I have a reactive low, I am STILL HOME ALONE! (not sure if last night's low was from not enough food, or the salad (16g carbs) I ate for supper)
SO, now I am 1-hour post donuts, in complete eater's remorse. STILL nauseous. Now want to take a nap, but want to stay awake to test in another hour. THEN I have to wait and see if I have a reactive low rather than lows from not eating enough.
I think I have gone from the stage of my diagnosis to the stage.
MUST GET STRONGER! MUST GAIN KNOWLEDGE TO COMBAT STUPID THOUGHTS!!!!!!!
Ok, well, not that it helps that I ate the stupid freakin' things, but it feels good to rant! thanks for listening!

| | | I had a terrible day yesterday. Didn't have my proper meds and compounded it by making bad eating decisions. Doing much better today and somewhat back on track. Here's hoping that tomorrow's better for you.

| | Sometimes, every once in a while, it is just time to eat the donuts (or a quarter of a cinnabon!) As Frank implied, you are only human. You also used that famous diabetic response to a low that is not so low you cannot think straight and thought what can I eat that I love that I don't normally eat! That is why I no longer keep bars of Cadbury's chocolate in my fridge - just too tempting under those circumstances. Yep you learned your lesson - quickly too - it took me years with the chocolate in the fridge, so well done!!

| | | So, NOW my blood sugar is 48. it is almost 5 hours since donut ingestion.... (and nothing else in since)
SO, is it reactive?
Or is it due to too little food you think?

Could be you took too much insulin. The one "good" thing that happens after your pancreas is totally shot is that you don't have to worry about reactive lows.
Or it could be your long acting insulin is off, and it has nothing to do with the donut at all.
