Hi there
OK, most know how Eri's bgl's have been horrible for a while.
Well, I brought up to the doc's w/ her last hospital stay about our suspicions on Eri's eating disorder or the dia-bulemia...so since then, she's done a major change.
She is carb counting like crazy, checking her bgl's and making sure she gets her insulin w/o an argument.
This morning, I checked her bgl at 1:30 and she was 38, gave her a bit of her chocolate bc she woke up and was coherent, checked on her a little while later and she was only at 41. Gave her something else and rechecked and still 41...gave her something else(with her not so happy at this point bc she wanted to sleep) and she got up to...wow...43!...ugh!
After she got up, had breakfast(made her an egg w/ english muffin) and a few bites of hash browns...2 hours later she was only up to 50! She has really no symptoms until a bit later when her eyes blur, but that is it.
She had her dad make her sushi for lunch and had her celery and ranch and was 50 again. She's acting completely normal.
So, she decided on a panini for dinner w/, of course, celery and ranch and for a snack, she had some peach rings.
She will check her bgl again in another hour.
It's amazing how much all this has changed since last week.
When she did a check on her glucometer for her average 7 day reading, it's 86. I know that's giving her a bit of incentive and I know she wants an A1c of at least 7 in March.(her dad is bribing her w/ $20/every point she goes down...from 12).
So, at least she is heading in the right direction with her determination to take control.
When the endo's came in to speak to us, she got very defensive about me, telling them that I was giving shots and all that stuff, it wasn't my fault, not to blame me, I think she is finally taking responsibilty for her actions.
Now I am just believing that she will stick with this to make herself healthy. I know she is a bit freaked w/ what can come to be w/ this heart monitor and she doesn't want to cut he life short.
