Did homemade glucose test this morning

I drank 60 of glucose, I know the standard is 75, but each bottle was 15 and after 4 I was done!

FBS~86

1 hour~ 200 (thinking if I would have drank another bottle it would have been higher)

2 hour~ back down to the 80's

So what do I make of this? Any insight?

I have no idea what to make of it.

I would say the 1 hr was way too high

but the 2 hour, i don't know what to think.

I am not sure what you drank is the standard for the test.

why did you do this test?

Eliza,

It looks like you are doing OK as a pre-D.
BG's back down to 80's in 2 hrs, no meds, right?.
I think that you should congratulate your pancreas.

Keep doing what you are doing preserve your beta cells, at least you know that you shouldn't eat more than 60g of carbs in one sitting.
Keep monitoring with frequent A1C's & doctors visits.

Your current A1c of 6.4% (just shy of 6.5%, the level at which the ADA has recommended that someone be diagnosed as diabetic) indicates that you are spending a fair amount of your day at a high level. Best to take precautions early, before burning out more of your beta cells.
