| | | Walgreens free A1c test in November I was in the store yesterday when an advertisment came on about Walgreens diabetes event in November. I asked in the pharmacy about it. The pharmacist didn't have details yet, but said yes they will be doing free A1c tests.

Now, without meds, the appetite as returned! i can't lose anymore. I'm on a major plateau. I wish I had known about carb counting years ago!

| | | Wow, thanks for the heads up on the A1C test. I've been dying to know where I'm at now, but didn't want to spend the money for the test! I'll ask the pharmacist about it here.
Congrats on your 40 pound weight loss. I too lost 40 pounds before and after diagnosis but am ashamed to say I did absolutely nothing it just came with the Type 1 territory.

| | | I got an email from Walgreens; they will be providing free blood glucose and A1c testing at "events" in November. You can call 1-877-926-3968 to find an "event" at a Walgreens in your area.

| | | I asked about this at my local Walgreen's. They consulted with a manager and found out that they are indeed giving free A1C tests at selected stores and gave me the address of the one nearest me. Cool, huh?

| | I found this on another forum when I googled it. One store in my area is holding an event from 9 - 3 on the 11th.
FREE A1C blood glucose testing @Walgreens event (normally $15/test)
A1C home test kit is $15 per test. Now, Walgreen will be providing one free A1C testing. Results immediately.
Use Walgreens Store Locator link below. Enter your zip code, check box "Diabetes Wellness Events" and then click on "Find a Store". The stores near me will have both the regular blood sugar test as well as the A1C blood glucose test, others may vary...you can call to find out what will be included during the event. http://www.walgreens.com/marketin...re_locator |

| | I called my nearest Walgreens, and the free A1c, for me, is on Tues. (11/17). I also appreciate the OP's info!
This is just another reason why our "family" is so important to me. Thanks! |

| | | How does the drug store test your A1c test? Do they get blood out of a vein?
Thanks, Rob |
