| | | Surgery Hi again!
Well, Eri had her gallbladder removed last Thursday. They kept over looking it bc the ultrasound showed a normal looking one but the hidescan(that was supposed to take between 45 min- 1 hour) took them four hours with Eri. They came up with biliary dyskinesia, and her gallbladder was only working at 15%. It was large and abnormal looking and all lumpy, so they are almost 100% certain that is what was causing all her pain, not the gastroparesis like they thought. It got to the point where it hurt her to lay on her right side and her whole upper abdomen was swollen. The vomitting and diarrhea from the pain kept throwing her bgl's off, but now she's recovering.
We have been in and out of the hospital since September, this last visit, we were in for 11 days. She was just taken off of a dilauded pump yesterday.
She's retaining a lot of water, but I think now that she is home, she will get rid of it quicker. She's not as in much pain anymore so she is able to walk a lot better.
Her bgl's were bouncing a bit while in there...like to the mid 200's, but today she got herself back w/ nothing higher than 105 and now she is 65. She's happy with that.
She's really looking forward to FINALLY getting back to school! It's been 5 weeks...between the flu, then mono and then pancreatitis and that pain in her abdomen, now she just
wants to be healthy and "normal".
So, we're hoping that now that she is out of pain, she will have much better control over everything.
Sorry for the ramble! |

| | Thank you so much all
She's a little bit more pain today, but she wanted to walk a bit yesterday after we got out of the hospital to get her scripts and some snacks. She even tried doing some laundry, but ended up having either me or her sister help her out.
Her bgl's have been ok...
I spoke to the teacher liason from the hospital today, so she was taking care of the paperwork that the endo's haven't sent back yet.
Tomorrow we see her GP, so we'll find out when she can go back to school.
At least her stitches are popping out, so she's healing well with that! |

I hope so, too.
I was concerned in the early a.m. bc she threw up ...but from the pain.
Her GP said that the pain will last for a while, so hopefully she will be able to deal with it. She's sound asleep right now, so that should help...nothing like sleeping through the pain. |

| | | my oldest sister had her gallbladder removed, she just can't eat fatty things anymore, like KFC, which she used to love... she has to be careful about getting a fatty liver as well, so dried fruit and too much fruit can be a problem...
