| | | want...chocolate...need...help ok, this is my first halloween with D.
since dx in Feb, i have not had a single morsel of chocolate (other than my 85% dark). this is a huge feat for me, as i am a certified chocoholic.
my toddler hauled in a loot bag so big it would last him until he's in college.
my will power and self-control is waning...and fast.
IF i were going to indulge, how might you suggest i bolus? would a pre-bolus work best because they are fast acting?
help!
PS- i really feel for you all who had T1 as kids. i really, really do.

| | | I say shoot and eat! Then test, test, test and be willing to adjust for the coming high. Try something like peanut M&M's. At least you'll have the nuts to slow the sugar down. I'm thankful not to have the chocolate gene, but other things certainly beckon me (like the sourdough olive bread that just came out of my oven!)

| | | When I want to eat a piece of chocolate I reach for the sugar free Dove milk chocolate candy. They are a little bite but are very satisfying and have only 4 grams carb in each. They make a few varieties and they are all delicious.

| | | I liked that lindt 85% dark as well, but I do prefer the dove squares a bit more. They're also 4g per piece, I usually eat 2. They're nice and smooth and creamy like milk chocolate, just dark.
It's the day after Halloween, and I had ONE piece of candy corn. I didn't have any more candy all night.
I don't know how I did it. Did you have some chocolate, and how did it go?

| | | I caved last night and ate Halloween Snickers. I am good almost all year long and decided to eat the **** things. I froze about four snickers and just gave in to the chocolate craving. Last kid at the door got the rest of our candy!
