| The 70/30 premixed, aka poor man's pump, is a quick acting and long acting insulin mix. So while you may be covering your increased meal intake your increasing your chances of lows between meals and will find yourself feeding your insulin. For better control you may want to get off the premixed and take the two different types with seperate shots. Best to talk to your doctor about your need to have the ability to adjust to different demands. The premix requires a much stricter regime of diet and schedule, and not everyone has the option to follow a strict schedule because of jobs or family.
Moving this to the diabetes forum. Think you will get better responses there.
