Lancet Experience

I hope this isn't seen as advertising . . . just a weird observation.

From the day I was diagnosed, I've been using the Reli-on lancets. It's a good product and I've been happy.

I recently got a box of Stat-Let lancets and was surprised at the much greater comort of being pierced by the Stat-Lets compared to the Reli-Ons.

Evidently lancet brand does make a difference in how you feel the piercing.

Definitely agreed there, Middle. Once I bought some colored Albertson's lancets (well, cause they were cool colors) and they hurt more than any of the others I've ever tried....Usually, I like to use the 33 gauge BD Lancets. They seem comfortable to me (even moreso than the Freestyle lancets I have). I think lancing devices make somewhat of a difference, too...

Mr. Man,

Do you test on your forearms or fingers?

I like the OneTouch UltraSoft lancet device and lancets a lot. It seems to be less uncomfortable than the others I've tried. I also like the Accu-Chek Soft Clix device and lancets. They generally don't hurt much BUT they leave these huge holes in my fingers that seem to take centuries to disappear.

IMO, the lancets that have twist off tops hurt worse then the lancets that have pop off tops.
