Circumcision Anyone

I have been diagnosed with Phimosis, tightening of the foreskin. My urologist says I need to get a circumcision. Anyone have any experiences with adult circumcision?

Previous posters, this is really not funny! I had it done about 17 years ago. The urologist said this is common with diabetics. The bacteria thrive on the glucose in the urine. And the only way to clear it up is to remove that cosy dark moist, nutrient-rich environment. In other words, cut off the foreskin.

Anyway, I remember feeling a bit sorry formyself for a few days. But it all healed up remarkably quickly. So, littlebuddy, don't worry about it.

Cheers,

Mark

The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shakin' hands, sayin' "How do you do?"
They're really saying "I love you"

Don't worry I am scared shi*$#@ess I don't even want to go in there I am thinking of living the rest of my life like this and never finding a girl. I am 29 years old, I live in Taiwan, I am afraid I'll get gangrean and I lose the whole thing. What is there not to worry about? I have to see the urologist on Saturday morning and he will tell me when to do the procedure.

The worst thing is my name on here is littlebuddy everything seems very fitting, except for my foreskin.

I don't recall making fun of anyone! I simply mentioned the fact that the thread about phlebotomists was brought up. What part of that made fun of the poster getting circumsized? I work in the healthcare field and do you think I can honestly keep a job if I made fun of all the little things that go on in people's lives?

Guys have been getting this done for thousands of years and surviving quite well, and now a days they don't use sharp stones to do it with.
You'll be fine.

Do you thinkthey could put me totally under when they do it. I don't even think I want to be awake when they do the procedure, I mean I don't even want to know what's happening. That's how chicken I am.

Okay...Back in my high-school years, part of those were in South Korea since my dad was in the Army. Anyway, I had a couple of good friends, one who was born in the USA (circumcised) one who was born in South Korea (uncircumcised). My circumcised buddy found out our friend was NOT, and made fun of the kid and belittled him so much that this guy went out and made an appointment at the age of 15 to get it done. He was easily laid up (no pun intended) for three days. He said the pain was not excruciating, but it was just in an area where when you get pain, literally the whole body says "STOP!". So he locked himself in his room and laid around naked for three days.

Oh, he said the anesthesia wore off during the cab-ride home...He said if he had really thought about it, he would have chosen somewhere closer to home.

You won't be the first adult male to get circ'd on that day when you do it, and you won't be the last. If anything can go wrong, your doc should be able to tell during your evaluation.

My father-in-law had Phimosis when he was in his 70's. He was circumsized and was uncomfortable for a day or two, but everything went as planned and he was fine. Be up and up with your doctor. Let him know how you feel and he can probably put you to sleep. You don't need to be embarrassed about the way you feel or the procedure. I don't like operations on any part of my body. I remember how I felt when I was having years of testing for infertility. Some of the tests were very humbling and embarrassing. Some were down right painful. I remember going home many a time saying, I don't care if I never have a baby. I'm not going through this again. But I did. I found that the doctor understood my feeling and would be as easy on me as possible. And one day one of those tests worked and five kids (well two were adopted but they were still a blessing) later........ I know it's not the same except it was humbling and worrisome.
Good luck. I will add you to my prayers that you might be calmed.

That comment made me laugh but in all seriousness I hope the procedure goes okay. Try not to worry (I know, easier said than done).
