| | | Eri saw another specialist yesterday... Hi again...
OK, Eri was back at the ped's on Wednesday, due to vomitting and massive headaches and side aches...we got a call for a cancellation w/ the allergist and she saw them yesterday
Well, she is NOT allergic to anything, thank God, but they are sending her for a CT scan of her head to see why the headaches on Tuesday at CHOB's, so, then her GI doc got in touch w/ me, I explained that Eri would be at the hospital already on Tuesday morning, so they faxed over the form to get an abdominal xray right after the CT. They will then decide if she will be admitted or not, b/c, nothing is really moving. She fell asleep in tears from pain the other night, aspirin wasn't helping. Breaks my heart.(and her BG's aren't bad now at all...her reading last night was 126, this morning was 70 and now she is up to 132...so she's doing better...not super high readings, thank God.
Oh, one of the other doctors suggested she see's a neurologist next...because of how her hands have been. They get all red, swell and burn really bad(from out of nowhere), and she said it feels as if her nerves are on end. She runs them under cold water to try to ease it up. So, one of the doc's mentioned neuropathy...I was like, in her hands?(OK, so my mind is just boggled w/ a TON Of other things going on, not just regarding Eri, although she takes up a LOT of my mind)...
So...we will see on Tuesday what will be going on.
If I would let her, she'd sleep 20 hours a day. This lethargacy concerns the doctors as well. You can see in her eyes that she is hurting(headaches and sides/stomach) constantly and she just wants to relax. I made her walk w/ me ...I got her a case for the iPod nano my mom sent to her at the iPod store in the mall last night, even though she wanted to just go home and sleep. I try to keep her moving as much as possible to get her system moving.(she raced me up the 3 flights of stairs in the parking ramp yesterday, so that was good...but she had a bit of energy from a diet pepsi of all things).
OK, that's about it for now...
I have to call my son and wish him a happy 15th(AHHH!!!) birthday ...again. He had to cut it short when I called earlier b/c his friends were calling and coming over(and so it begins even more...lol)
Can't believe I have a 15 yo...lol.
Have a great day all

| | Robin,
That's truly something... Eri has been through so much already with this disease and to hear that there are still other issues going on, must be so hard . I can't imagine how hard that must be on you both.
As much as I wish that she wasn't dealing with all this, I think you are doing the right thing by getting her seen by these specialists. Obviously, something is going on with her health, and I truly hope that these doctors can figure out what the problem is and how to make her feel better.
Thanks for keeping us posted on this all and please continue to do so- we're thinking of you both

| | Robin, I just can't imagine being Eri's age and dealing with all that. I wish there was something we could do besides send good wishes. I glad Eri has you to take care of her. Happy Birthday to your son.

| | | When it rains, it pours. My thoughts and prayers are heading your way. Poor Eri! I can't imagine going through such a roller coaster at such a difficult time in life. I really hope the docs are able to help you sort things out and understand what is going on.
God bless and good luck. |

| | | Robin, Keep the chin up and good thoughts going. (I know, easy to say) I am amazed when I hear your posting. I don't know how you deal with so much. You are such a good Mom. Then when I realize how hard this must be for your son. It's hard for a child (no matter how old) to realize that Mom's time is really taken with a sick sister. YOU ARE GOOD!! And it sounds like HE IS GOOD, TOO. Good luck to Eri and Happy B-day to the 15 year old.

| | Thanks so much everyone
Eri's bg this morning was 66...she looked like she did when she was little sleeping early this morning...weird...and I'm sure she'd be irked if she knew I said that...lol.
Yeah, I'm going crazy trying to get answers...I feel as though we are being led in circles...and I AM assertive, it's just those drawn out looks some doctors give, know what I mean?(all, basically, the same group)...
Her home tutoring is up now, and they want her back in school, yet she has all these appointments coming up...I'm trying to get an extension, but who knows? It took them forever just to get the approval the first time.
I get on those kicks where I feel everything is my fault things are like this for her...I can't stand seeing her so unhealthy. She was never this bad in FL, except for breaking her arms each one time(boys broke her arms...a different one each time), and that one time w/ DKA and when she was first dx'd and having all those seizures.
Honestly, I think it all started when she got the flu the day after Thanksgiving, and then again, when she got the flu shot 2 days after Christmas...she hasn't been "well" since those times...I'm not a doctor, though, just going on what I've seen.
Shuttin' up...oh, and thanks for the bday wishes for my son He lives in FL w/ my mom and stepdad to go to school there...both girls are up here w/ me(although they want FL now)...so it was weird not seeing him for his bday yesterday...
