Angry Starving!

Why the **** am I so hungry all the time? Lately I haven't been able to stop eating, and I usually eat loads anyway cuz I'm a greedy little sod. I've been keeping a dead close look on my sugars and so far I haven't been below 6.5 for a while now, so it isn't as if I'm having lots of hypos. In fact, my sugars are pretty normal, but I'm just SO HUNGRY! I'm not even a stupid weight either, so, um, I'm stumped.

Anyone got any ideas?

Starving!

Good question God Xtra Medium:smartass:

I know that I go through phases where I can't get enough to eat. I surprise my wife by wiping out all she fixed for supper. At other times I have to Force myself to meet the Carb level the Dietician has given me.

Time of year
Exercise level
Time for a change in Regimens

Make sure you are getting enough protein. They say that protein is what gives you the feeling of being full. Some diets recommend sprinkling a protein powder on your food for that reason.

This weekend was the weekend of birthdays, so here's a quick run down of what I had to eat as evening meals this weekend:

Friday - Greek Lamb with feta salad and sauteed potatoes.
Saturday - Massive portion of Fish and chips
Sunday - 5oz Rump steak, gammon steak, pork chop, two lamb chops, chicken breast, chips and peas.

And these were just evening meals

I guess protein isn't really an issue for me!

Usually I eat lots of pasta and rice dishes so it's not as if I'm still lacking in carbs. I'm meeting my care team again on Monday anyway so I'll ask them too.

I go through bouts of hunger as well. Usually after a day or two or trying to eat mostly fresh veggies (in my attempt to lose weight). No matter how much fresh veggies I eat, they don't quell the hunger.

Actually, it's not hunger, it's more akin to "drooliness". It's my mouth that has the munchies, not my stomach.

I find that something fatty or a carb like bread will quell it.

I had some thick soups that did the same thing - homemade pasta fazool and squash soup quelled my drools so much I couldn't look at food for hours - a rare feeling indeed for me.
