Stem-like-cells

I'm skeptical about this and it maybe the big breakthrough. It still needs to be confirmed so keep your eyes open.

Harold, I couldn't get the link to work. Is this the article about the research using the spleen cells, which was performed in mice?

Arg !!!!!!! I could not get to either. Then started typing it in and it completed it and opened it. Anyway it's at the New Scientist web site.

A small company company, TriStem in London "says it can turn ordinary blood into cells capable of regenerating damaged or diseased tissues."

Evidently they have claimed this for some time, but according to the article, Blood could generate body repair kit, they have provided some proof that some of it's claims are true. They seem to be turning white blood cells into stem-like cells which can then grow into bone marrow stem cells which can produce blood cells.

In a direct qoute-
Quote:
When injected into mice, these cells migrated to the bone marrow and generated nearly all the different types of human blood cells, the team will report in the January edition of Current Medical Research and Opinion (vol 20, p 87), a peer-reviewed journal.
