Where is the Diabuddies release?

It's coming!! Sorry it's lagging a little. Finding new work has been stressfull so diabuddies and my post count here have suffered from it. I am back on the ball, and most importantly:

SHANE RELEASED THE NEW CLIENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's right. US support, Ultra, Ultra II, freestyle flash all connect to diabuddies.

The site isn't where we want it yet; lots of work to do. I WILL get the diagrids table to act more like peoples spreadsheets on here. Lots of features added though.

Sorry its late!!

If you want to test the new client here is the URL:

http://www.diabuddies.com/Diabuddies...pp.application

As far as I know this is the first US client outside of OT. Many have tried, and cried, but Shane did it.

I have Thursday and Friday off to work on Diabuddies. The release will be in before my bike ride at the tour de cure this saturday. Where I will be promoting it and the forums.

Your above link does nothing Brian. I click on it and it downloads an executable. Then when trying to run it, it says it cannot download the application. SO not sure what that link is suppose to fully do.

Are you guys just clicking on the link and running it, or trying to save it?

It's a clickonce application - theres no setup file or executable to save.. Just click the link and run.

Ahh yes, I think that saving it is exactly what you may be doing. I tried "Save As" then running the .application file with the same result.

Try just running it from where it lies.

Also make sure you have the .NET 2.0 framework installed.

Brian, pretty sure the downloader for clickonce checks the system for the .Net version and offers to install it if it is not already. I can't test that as all my systems all have .Net 2.0, but I'm pretty sure thats how its supposed to work.

I think you need to add it as a dependancy Shane. Someone couldn't get it to load earlier and waiting to hear back if the .net install fixed it. I also believe, not sure, the generated htm page checks if the client is installed or not.

Sandi- fixed. I'll pm you a new temp pw.

Diabuddies Meter Download Client

I think this will prompt you if it detects that the framework isn't installed. This is another way to run the app.

Shane's the man on this. I believe it should work fine though. The USB cable acts like an rs-232 converter as far as I know.

There were some blank passwords. This was my faut - when an error on the reg form occured it cleared out the password fields then would submit with no pw. This has been fixed, but if you are having problems logging in "lost password" should work to resolve it, if it doesn't already (I cant remember). If you need a temp pw created let me know. Sorry for the inconvinience.

The above linked software seemed to be looking for a com port. It listed the 1 com port my computer has. I did not notice any USB option in the port dropdown. I know that there are USB to Serial adapters, not sure if the opposite exists...
