Diabuddies Questions & Answers

Diabuddies Help

This thread is for questions and answers regarding Diabuddies.com.

Diabuddies is still new and is in startup mode. My father and I are trying to raise funds to dedicate more time for this project. My father and I do business well together and am looking forward to working on this side business with him. Shane, Jim Hartigan, and myself, Brian Hartigan, own Diabuddies, so if you have any intricate questions please contact one of us. If you haven't thanked Tony for this site yet you should really do so. Better yet buy a bracelet! Or just donate a few dollars, you know it's worth it.

Q. how do you find your average, is it just looking at the top right corner of your diagrid, based on that time period you've graphed?
Yup. The DDMS will soon be a 'health dashboard' where 90,30,14,7,5,3,1 day averages will be listed. That is currently the only way to do it though. Sorry for the current limitation and know it is being addressed.

Q How do you see all the averages (T1, T1.5, T2, etc) like that link to MarkTN's page?
Diabuddies - Diabetic Profiles Home

That's the Profiles Home Page. It's also listed in the left nav bar, or as I - oh - so - whimsically labled it, DiaNav. It's purpose is to be the 'parent' of User Profiles and Searching for other Diabetics.

Mark is the current Featured profile. The featured profile isn't coded to change every 24 hours like it should, yet, but it will. Until then I picked Mark. He is one cool, smart dude. And talk about control.

Below that are the averages section - the averages for all of those are listed there under the featured profile. I need to clean up the page a little.

Then there is the google map that Chris made. It lists every users zipcode on diabuddies. If you don't want your zip code public, put in one where you would like to be. I suggest somewhere in the US as weather.com's weather control doesn't work with forigen zips. I wish they would change that. The pink pins are girls and the blue pins are boys. You can click on the pins to get more details.

Below that is the great soda debate of diabetics. Diet Pepsi vs Diet Coke.

Q. Also, right in front of the average on the top right corner it lists X days, and then a large number - what does this large number represent?
I believe thats the total of all bgl's listed in the graph. I bought dotnetcharting.net's charting control and this is how it defaults data in the legend box. I need to do work on that; Suggestions are welcome.

Q. How many total readings are in my profile or what?
Your total number of DiaJournal entries is only listed in the search page right now . I will put it on the user profiles as you log in as well. I will be working on the profiles page next.

Q. And how would I know what date the very first reading was taken on in order to set my diagrid to "custom date"?
Select All - from the 'Begin:>' dropdown list. Use your mouse and drag your pointer over the first entry date. When your mouse rolls over a data point there will be 'roll over' text with more information; alternatly you can click on the data point to fully edit it.

Q. another issue: I think I may still be having time of test issues. When I do the 7 or 15 day checks, I don't have any readings between 6am and 7am, and I should have all my weekday breakfast readings there. There's actually quite a few readings at the other end of the spectrum, between 11pm and midnight... I can't remember if I took a lot during that time (normally I wouldn't, I'd already be asleep), but maybe the times are shifted by a few hours or something?
I'll look at your times, but I believe Shane fixed the time issues with the US.

I can't stress to you what an accomplishment decoding the US meter. Shane is the only one I know of to date to be able to code for it. I have seen no apps doing it, and I looked.
