Everyone that I have spoken with says the normal bs levels are between 70 and 100, then why is it that when my blood sugar level gets below 100, I have symptons of shaking and feeling almost delerious. my shakes from inside, so i will take test and it will be somewhere between 90 and 100, when it gets below 90 then a person can physically see me shaking, so i will go test and sure enough it is around 61 to 80, when it gets that low I have to sit down, try to bring it back up and it usually takes me anywhere between 30 to 45 minutes to recover. The recover time is getting longer and longer. When I do bring it back up within the 1 hour period then my levels go up to about 140. That is not good either is it? going from say 71 to 143 in a matter of 30 minutes. Main ? about these lows that are supposedly normal ranges, does it depend on the weight of the person. Say a person weighs 130 and bs is 85 and has no shaking at all as oppose to one that is 220 and bs drops to 85 and person starts shaking. Someone please clarify this for me it is driving me crazy, oh wait I'm already there itis just more evident LOL

Others -- including myself -- have described feeling "low" even within the normal range for a couple of reasons:

first is for someone just coming under BG control after living with high BGs for some time.. it is as if the body became accustomed to the high BGs... but after a period of time with better BG values, normalcy can be re-established

secondly is rapid changes from high to low BG (or low to high) which seem to upset the equilibrium... stable BGs, in range are wait we ultimately aim for.

you know what, when you mentioned the equilibrium that reminded me that the other day i was working and all of a sudden it felt as if the floor disappeared from under me and i was unable to fully recover that whole shift. I felt as if I was off balance at all times.I believe by bs level was at 93 . I ended up calling my husband to come and get me, because I couldn't work safely and i didn't feel that i needed to be driving either. Good info It lets me understand this disease a lot more. including some of the weird things that are happening. I just read something about B12 being drained from your body because of the diabetes and this will cause tingling sensation in you hands and feet, I have been experience that also. Went to Dr.last night and he gave me a b-12 shot, so do you think I should get some b-12 vitamins and start taking those[
