Sorry, I missed that. Thanks for letting me know.

But I do like the visual in the Globe & Mail article. Puts a face on all those calories.

And he spends 8 hours a day in the pool.
That will burn it up.

Too bad the rest of us have lives to live.

I saw that article. May I submit that I am somewhat envious? LOLOLOL. He actually said he has trouble maintaining his weight, and not losing. Good grief. May I volunteer for his metabolism, please, when he's through with it? Hehehe.

I couldn't eat as much as he does. I guess I just envy him all the carbs. Not the eggs. Just the carbs. LOLOL.

I dunno . . . no matter what you're doing, that just doesn't seem healthy. I mean, that much cholesterol going in you - healthy even if you're exercising? I dunno. Kinda scary.

But . . . I guess the Buffalo theory on carbs & muscles proves true for him!

You and I may have to have a showdown for that metabolism.

Glad I don't have to pay his grocery bill.... but again on his winnings and endorsement potential, I don't think it will be a problem.

Yeah, I suspect the Coke and Visa people will be paying Phelps' grocery bills, car payment, house payment, etc. for some time to come. Hehe.

I wouldn't WANT to eat that many calories and carbs per day. I'd just like to have the option of being ABLE to do it and still have the fat melt off. Sigh...

I'd hate to be him when he retires, he's gonna have serious food withdrawel symptoms lol. I would like to find out what Sir Steve Redgrave the 5 time olympic rowing champion and diabetic ate during his career.
I recently heard that Phelps is thinking of competing in all the events he hasn't tried yet in 2012, hmmmm does that mean he'll do the 10k open water?? lol that would be interesting, i bet he'd have to eat double his normal intake just for that one event.

A newspaper article describing Sir Steves diet before and after competing.
Runsweet.com-Diabetes and Sport - Glycaemic Index

elsewhere on the site it describes his insulin regime(under rowing)
The article has him as type 2 but the LADA research website cites him as an example of LADA.
