Can you tolerate raw meat ? It would certainly help fill you up.

My daughter is a vegan and routinely does a month or so of the Raw Diet. She loves it but spends tons of time in the kitchen fixing her food. She uses chopped raw cauliflower for rice and julienned veggies for pasta. She sprouts her own seeds and grinds them up into bread. She is not diabetic though. I think you can just google Raw Diet and come up with recipes. I also think she uses a Dehyrator to make a lot of her snack foods out of fruits and veggies.

We have a great raw-food restaurant locally.
Maybe you can get some food ideas by looking at their menu?
Beets Café -- A café as unique as Austin

For example, their "pizza" = "a sprouted sunflower seed, hemp crust generously topped with seasoned almond nut cheeze, zesty tomato sauce, marinated mushrooms, sweet peppers, crispy onions, olives, fresh tomato, basil, spices, and crystal salt, served with a petite Caesar salad"

It's absolutely delicious, and I consider eating there a BIG treat... but if I had to COOK a raw diet I'd starve....... Things like making good crusts and chips using a dehydrator instead of baking are just way outside the time limits I have for food on a day-to-day basis.

I've seen this movie and believe it does heal diabetes if you can follow it. I'm working my way to being raw. Good luck!!

well I have pretty much reversed by Diabetes, by following a natural foods based diet ( organic meats & veg ( lots of veg) & I like it & never feel hungry. There are many roads to get to the same destination, but for me, it has to be for life, so I consider it more of a lifestyle change than some fad diet for 30 days.
I hear oysters are good raw, but it is against my particular ethics to eat them.

The raw food diet is just that, a lifestyle. It's not meant to be a temporary fix, just like the low carb way. You have to keep it up or the diabetes just comes back. I'm still eating low carb, just no meat or dairy.
Today's lunch...Cucumber boats with avocado filling. Yum!!

I love cucumber & avocados, but to me, they taste better with a side of goat cheese.
