Trigger Foods

Mine is chocolate. Problem is, when I have some can't just have a little. My lack of control can go on for days/weeks. Then I have to readjust to my diet/lifestyle change all over again. So, the question is...completely do without it? My son's birthday is coming up so that is an excuse to have cake...then my birthday...Thanksgiving...XMAS...NYE...Daughter's Bday...you get the picture.

Is it just easier to permanently cut those things out of your diet if you have had no success in moderation of said items? I'm starting to think it might be easier to give it up alltogether.

i think if you can't control it then it's might be best to let it go then to just have a little and let it set you off plan for a week. i know harder said than done with somethings.

When you did it in moderation, was that once a week, once a month? I love chocolate too and I eat it a couple times a day, every single day! I cannot go a day w/out chocolate. But just small amounts. A mini bar here, a mini bar there. I try to remind myself how bad I feel after eating more than that!!

Potato chips are a different matter, however. I'm addicted to those crunchy sweet maui onion chips that come in a purple bag. I had to stop buying those period, I could not control myself! I swear it's the MSG! LOL. I might buy a small bag once a month or two now and let myself eat chips all day; otherwise, I avoid them like the plague, walk straight past them at the store! Better just to not have them in the house at all in my case.

dark, semisweet chocolate is supposed to lower blood sugar. ??? I've never actually tried it so I cant say, but I've been told by others that eating before bed will lower your am fasting. Of course, it doesnt help your weight. But if you must eat it, I guess that would be the type to choose.
