I'm trying to eat as healthy as possible but I'm having trouble....any suggestions?

What kind of doctor is this? Is it an internet based doctor?

No my doc is not an internet doctor! He's a very respectable Doctor in our area.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend. Is he an endocrinologist? And if not, is your endocrinologist aware of you taking this medication? I am asking because when I asked my endo about this type of medication a couple years ago he was against it and refused to write a script.

No problem! I believe he is. They took a drug off the market called Phen Phen and Phentermine doesn't have that drug that mess with your heart in it that Phen Phen had. I asked him if it was okay to take this medicine with me having diabetes and he said I would be fine. My BS is low enough for me to come of my meds. I just have to drop the weight to come off my meds and everything else as far as my blood and heart checks out. I've been taking this phentermine for a week and so far my BS levels have been great and I find myself with more energy...What was your docs reason for not taking it?

He never gave me a reason. I think he wanted me to try the old fashioned way. He is also a diabetic and he probably feels that eating a proper diabetic lifestyle in proper amounts will naturally bring you to a proper weight. Now that I've gotten my act together, I tend to agree.

Believe me I feel the same, but with that in mind. I have been on a diabetic diet, watching what I eat and drink, plus I take Karate 3 days a week and walk. I'm still having trouble losing the weight. I've had blood work done, everything checks out. I'm a pretty healthy person and I strive to stay that way. I'm not extremely over weight but I do think that the phentermine will get me where I need to be and once I get there I can maintain my weight easier. I've maintained the weight I'm at for a year now. I guess my metabolism isn't very good. I will not take the phentermine for a long period of time. I'm not good with taking pills. I hope to be off those and my other meds for good, as soon as I reach my goal weight.

Good luck with reaching your goal and maintaining it. I know it can be tough.
