I thought a thread like this might provide additional motivation for some to workout more or stick with a program...or not.

It can't hurt.

I'll start.

An easy paced 5.25 mile run this morning in 41:51 (~8 min/miles). Felt okay - still a little fatigued from Sunday's long run and lack of sleep.

During the warmer months April-Oct. I try to ride about 60+ miles a week at a pace of around 18mph. My last two rides have been 42 and 36 miles so I went a little over my normal. I have riden at most 120 miles a week but my average is closer to 60. In the winter I try to workout at the gym 3 to 4 times a week for about an hour.

Everyone:

As the signature block says, I'm the Captian of a Tandem Bicycle. My wife and I ride almost every day in the bicycing season. The rides vary from 22, 25, and 35 miles with usual speeds in the low 15 mph averages. Rain, snow, ice, and temperatures below 30 degrees F mean no riding. We have an indoor magnetic resistance routine for the winter. (That is a real thigh burner and we only do that M-W-F's.)

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays we do an upper body strength training on a Bowflex Power Pro (that's the original model) that takes about 20 miutes (their advertising is correct!). Just enough to keep the upper body in condition without laying on a lot of muscle mass.

Other than that we tend to walk places whenever possible.

During the 12+ years we've been tandeming I've gone from 225 down to 155-160 range. (Linda has had similar but classified results.) HbA1c's between 5.2 to 5.4%. FBG's tend to be above 100 but usually below 125. No medications for diabetes -- yet.

You are cracking me up and you runners, how do you do that without going low. 30 minutes of walking and I am low.

My workout of the day will be roller skating for 2.5 hours.

Usually, I either do Tae Bo or get a workout with Wii.

Ok, I just got home from the gym, so here it is;

40 mins treadmill at 6.3km/h
10 mins bike resistance 2, 85 - 95RPM
10 mins elliptical, alternating 2 minute intervals of 90-100RPM/130 -140RPM.

Took pump off for gym, connected and bolused 1IU before elliptical as blood sugar went up 2mmol.

At the moment my goal is just weight loss/cardiovascular improvement. I'm considering adding in 2 -3 weekly classes of bodypump, which is weights to music.

This thread is a good idea. I normally write down what I do anyway, but posting it will keep me motivated.

Went to the beach, jogged 15 minutes North 1.6 to 1.8 miles.

Jumped in and swam/bodysurfed (waves were 5-7 ft) back to the South (55 minutes).

Collected 20 gallons of water for aquarium water change (160 lbs) and carried it over the dunes to the car (2 trips about 1/2 mile each).

Drove home and did 30 minutes on elliptical (I do this 7 days a week regardless of whatever else I do).

Ate lunch (chicken breast)

Went for a short 30 min bike ride (easy pace: 15-18 mph)

That's it so far today
Should have reapplied sunscreen after bodysurfing.

It's not quite 5am so I haven't done it yet today, but I walk 30 minutes a day (about 2 miles) and then every other day, I also lunge my show horses 20 minutes at a time (5 horses, but I work two sets in pairs) in the round pen. They basically just trot and canter around me in a circle, but I walk too for more exercise. Then there are the chores And why I get up before the crack of pre-dawn.

Normally my exercise for today would have been hockey training from 7 - 8:30 / 9pm.

Instead went for a quick 20 min walk after dinner...
