Way to go Trish!!!! What a super week. I think you inspired many of us last week when you first posted about the treadmill...since then I completely forgot that I wanted to dust mine off.
Were you rockin' out with music

| | | Good job!
Just don't try to do too much too fast...
I don't know how old you are but I was surprised to learn that my 50 YO legs did not regain their strength the same way that they did when they were 20.

| | | Great job. Keep up the good work.
These days, I usually do at least 40 minutes at at least 3 mph. Well, that's my goal anyway. I love walking (outside), but the mill can be boring. It's set up in front of a TV. I get the best results when I can find something good to watch that is on for an hour or more. I watch TV and just walk and walk. Hour shows are really the best. Start when the show starts and end when the show ends.
Here's a challenge for you- my wife and I wore out our first treadmill, and that was even after I replaced a roller and the belt once (mechanical repairs on a treadmill are DIY jobs, btw, pretty easy). Finally became not worth fixing. We're working on our 2nd one (got it about 3 years ago), but this time got the extended service plan, and keep renewing it (to get the parts for free). Already replaced the motor. So, see if you can wear yours out!

| | | I put a TV in front of my treadmill and connected a dvd/vcr combo. I generally watch concert dvd's - a few songs and my 30 minutes is up before I know it.
My workouts used to be whenever I could get time after work. I altered my routine in August - I used to get to work before 6:00 AM. Now, I do my workout, have myself a good breakfast, shower, and then get to work around 7:00. This way, I take care of myself beforehand and I get a workout every day (well, 6 days - I do chores on Saturday).
What is really surprising to me is that I think I'm starting to enjoy it (or maybe I'm just proud of myself for sticking to it).

They also are quiet which makes tv watching easier.
Any treadmill will last longer if you do periodic maintenance on it. Lubing the track is something I rarely hear people doing.

| | | Volleyball - I agree that you get what you pay for.
I bought a fairly high $ one from Smooth Fitness. I knew if I bought a cheap one that I would find too many excuses not to use it. Now I feel obligated since I spent so much.
I purchased a 20" LCD TV and mounted it right in front of the machine. Although the treadmill is quiet, I still use headphones so I can turn up the TV without disturbing anyone else in the house. My weekday workout starts at 05:00 and I am the only one up.
I also have 3 others in the family that use it but they aren't as regular about it as I am.

| | | Great job shockme! Trying to get motivated to start is the hardest part. After a few weeks it becomes a habit that you look forward to! I don't like doing the tread in front of the tv because it's too slow. I have a computer in the same room and I make a playlist of fast paced rockin' music videos to listen to and watch while I'm working out. Love it!

| | | Glad you are not giving up. I accompanied my daughter to her gym and could not do a whole 5k at a paultry 10 min pace. Got 2.5 miles and had to take a break, I was still congested from a cold. I want to go back now and try again. I may have to join just so I can do it regularly
