Exercise works!

Tonight my wife and I went to Ruby Tuesdays and I had to guess a little on the carb count. Well I didn't bolus enough and went a little high from 80 pre meal to 147 2 hours later. Now the 147 isn't that bad, but the 67 point jump was.

After a very brisk (4.5 mph) 30 minute walk I was back down to 80 without a correction.

I hurt my knee a week ago and haven't been on a walk since and was dying to get back out and walk. I'm glad I did as I missed it very much and as far as I'm concerned the BG levels are icing on the cake compared to being outside walking down a country road.

I have a new weight bench and am trying to make some room for it in my basement and can't wait to start that, but probably won't be able to get to it for another week or so.

Agreed, exercise works! I walk briskly about 45 min 5 days a week, particularly after the bigger evening meal. I also take along these $10 stretch bands from Walmart and exercise my upper chest/arms while walking. 500mg metformin and my last reading is:

Fasting Glucose: 82
A1C: 5.3

and not only that my once sky-high Triglycerides have fallen to 79!

That's great to hear! Exercising was definitely working for me as well! I fell and sprained both of my ankles so right now I am in a boot and wrap on my feet. I am sooooooooo ready to get back to walking again! At least they are having me ride a stationary bike at physical therapy now! I pedaled 1.5 miles on it today! Not a lot but better than nothing!
