needed daily exercise...

.

For my T2 body (on no "D" meds), I do:
- TM at 8% incline at 3.6 mph "speed walk" for 30 minutes.
- Glider at 30 minutes.
- Dual action stationary bike for 20 minutes
- Stepper machine for 505 steps.

I do the above above in morning and repeat in evening. Every other night, I also jog 1 mile (with my thick winter coat on), or in the summer with lighter weight clothes, I'll jog 3 miles (every other night). Yes. In addition to the above 2 x day tasks. On the opposit nights, I do skip / jump rope for 15 minutes & Tae-Bo (or shadow boxing) for 20 minutes as well. At my summer seasonal camp site, doing 25 mile peddle bike ride, canoe for 3 miles, cliff diving. then jog for 7 miles in 1 day is normal. Summer is when my BG numbers and BP numbers are the best.

On an average day, I complete 3 to 3.5 hours of exercise "every day". This is mostly because of my "sit on bum" office job. If you're on your feet every day (like a nurse in ER room), perhaps only 30 minutes of "extra" exercise a week is needed. As they say, each body is different.

Hope this helps in your "what is best for your body" research.

Tim Belknap is one of the most popular diabetic body building champions in the industry. He won several contest during his competitive days.

You may want to look him up on the web, I remember him years back in all the fitness mags. I think there is sites on the web to that are dedicated to diabetes fitness and they may have educational means of helping you.

In addition to T2, I wear a stent. I have been doing cardio rehab at a hospital for 3 years. The one-hour session(3-5x/week) almost always reduces my bg by 50-100. I do the treadmill, bike, and arm exercises. Nurses monitor my bp and bg before and after each session and won't release me until a low bg goes up with juice and/or crackers.

Thinking of getting a treadmill for the house.

A doctor told me to avoid "white" foods. Hard to follow. Trying to eat only whole grain.
