P90X, my experiences so far

Hello.

I am a Type 2 diabetic, who was recently given even more meds to take when I decided enoughs enough and wanting to get off of this circle I am on for meds. Anyway, the one I think that really made it serious to me was the glypizide or whatever its called since it burns out your cells from what I hear.

Anyway. After looking at a variety of workout options, me personally not found of running at all, and a lot of the stuff on TV for working out looked like a joke or embarrassing if someone came in while you were doing it, I decided to give P90X a try.

I started August 17th, but wanted to first see how the program would work for me with my normal diet, and then after 30 days, try it with a strict diet.

I started at 285lbs and I am 5'10, male, 32. Anyway, after 30 days no diet, I noticed the following:
- My stamina increased
- I am stronger than before
- My weight didn't go down much at all, 5lbs if that.

So i started the diet phase plus workout continuing, after 5 days, I dropped 5lbs.

I know I have a long way to go, and its going to be more like a P180X I am thinking before I am in good shape (target is my old fighting weight of 195), but I am hopeful.

For those looking for something that appears to not be a joke, go with P90X.

I am hopeful that by the time I see my doctor again, he can take me off some of these meds!

Good for you! I've been curious about the P90X, but it looks way to much like hard work. Keep up the good work.

Thanks! honestly, it is hard work, but, it realistic. The main thing I have found is that I just need to modify what I do if its something I really can do for a long time. Basically as they say in the vids, do your best, forget the rest.

For anyone considering it, I would highly recommend picking up some good resistance bands, especially if you can't do a pull up at all even with the modified chair way.

Very happy so far and motivated.

Joke with the wife, my goal is to become a No neck.
