I have til June and my hubby is using the Couch to 5K model. BTW to teach me. Yesterdays adventure was a liittle too aggressive the front of my ankles hurt a bit. We are using the chi running model for style and overdid it a wee bit. I guess i will try to listen to his advise a bit better. Just going to go for a little walk today!

Yeah lots of ups and downs when you set a goal like that...but keep it up and you will get there! I missed 2 days of training this week due to 3 drs visits. Started "the pump" wed...nothing earth shattering but it is nice to be able to turn it off when doing long training.
weekly tally was 5875yds swimming/5hrs 48 min on bike/29.48 miles running
      16 weeks down - 14 to go

13.65 walking miles this past week. I took 48 hours off for cortisone/Synvisc injections. I have definitly had some relief from them. Especially on day two. It was eery to be absolutely pain free!

I may not be ready for a 5 k by June but I dont care if I need to walk some. Couldnt do anything on Saturday felt too stiff. I was okay on Sunday, we did 2.5 k about a quarter of that running the rest was walking.

You do a lot! You just started with the pump. Im big pump fan. I took it off for 2 hours and didnt get the dreadfully bad lows I usually get. So looks like reducing the insulin is better than adding carb.

I started running when i was 35. After a couple years of running I saw a triathlon while on a camping trip, and thought it looked a little more interesting than running. Did my 1st triathlon when i was 44 (will be 47 this summer) and as soon as I finished it the "quest" became to do a full Iron distance triathlon. Im doing my 1st full this July...I love the training and the life style associated with it. At some point I'm sure I'll burn out and go back to shorter ones...but for now Im going to enjoy the ride and see where it takes me

And as far as the pump goes...thats why i got it...so I could shut it off an hr before I train and turn it back on when im done. So far - so good!

Well, my exercising has been sporadic for the past few weeks. Been getting in some walking and a lot of yard work. Today was my first day back to the gym in a really long time..too long! I was up at dark o'thirty with hubby to get to the gym this morning. I just started a 12 week training program. Today was Day 1.
Wide set push-ups 3 sets x 12 reps. Bench press 3 sets x 12 reps. Chest fly 3 sets by 12 reps. Tricep extensions 3 sets x 12 reps. Tricep pushdowns 3 sets x 12 reps. Narrow set push-ups was on my list, but my chest and arms were too torn up to finish them.
Tomorrow is back and biceps day. This program has me training 4 days in a row and then 3 days off.

The Couch to 5K program is great. I used the program before my dx to train for a 30min 5K (and I've never been much of a runner). Might use the program to mix in with spinning for cardio on cardio days.

Day 2 - Back and biceps day. I am so sore from yesterday. Hubby tried to wake me up this morning to go to the gym again at 6am. It was not happening. Luckily, I got my workout in this evening after dinner. Thank goodness for having a weight set at home.

Lat pull downs 3 sets x 12. Single dumbbell row 3 sets x 12 x each arm. Seated row 3 x 12. Alternating bicep curl 3 x12 x each arm. Single arm bicep curl 3 x 12 x each arm. Now biceps and triceps are torn up. I'm not going to be able to brush my hair tomorrow.

I have been ill. Having problems breathing. Not sure if it's illness or bad allergy. Did ride stationary bike spinner. Did one lap but it took 2:30 minutes. Hard to pedal when you can't breathe good.

I'm doing my walking thing daily. I've got a bug but was able to get out there today. Did X2 yesterday, once at work, at lunch, then again when I got home. Knee is awesome and so is my hip. I've had this mentality that everything feels so good that it would be a waste to miss a day and not take advantage of pain free walking. Here's to hoping it lasts.

Walking every other day - now up to just over 2 miles in 35 minutes. Old goal was two miles under 40 minutes - new goal 3 miles under 45 minutes.

I am into tennis and swimming...on typical days i do both - 2 sets of tennis singles and about 30 mins of swimming....today got up late so did not go for tennis but the swimming is scheduled for the evening--so maybe I might do around an hour of swimming today!!

I stayed way too late at work but was able to squeeze in my shorter route before it got too dark. Plus it's a work day which means two half mile walks at work.

Have a great weekend everyone. I hope you all find the time to move a little.

I walked 6 miles yesterday, 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon.
That plus deeply breathing and I have been able to skip my high blood pressure med.
I am about to see my doctor to change the med next week.

      Have a good weekend everyone.
