Question on preventing lows while exercising

Hey everyone, I just joined the gym yesterday because my daily routine was boring me and i wanted more of a cardio workout like classes, and treadmills and bikes and stuff.....
So heres my question!

While working out does anyone bring snacks or a special drink to the gym and if so what kind do you bring that is low fat, and doesnt make you bottom out during a workout?

Exercise and Lows

Gina,
I try to exercise for an hour each day, usually pretty intensive cardio workwork. I have found that as long as I eat enough protein at the meal before I work out, my bs stays fine, usually only dropping around 65. However, I do try to keep glucose tablets handy at all times, in case I should feel low during a workout. I usually feel like I get the best workout when I exercise at least 2-3 hours after my last meal. If I wait until 4 hours after my last meal, I tend to run low and have to stop my workout early. However, this depends on what I ate at the previous meal. If I'm below 110 before i workout, I usually eat a small serving of nuts or a tablespoon of peanut butter, which gives me enough protein/carbs to keep me up throughout my workout. I've also found that it's not a good idea to exercise on a full stomache, especially if you're REALLY full, because it can make my bs go up instead of down. Hope this helps a little!

Tonite i did an intense aerobic workout after i ate dinner, after an hour of working out i was 49, so i drank a juice box and then did some weight training....I realized that i had my pump still on when i was suppose to suspend it....Tomorrow instead of water i think i will buy a gatorade it has 15 carbs per serving ....my CDE told me today that i have to test out what will keep my blood sugars normal during intense working out....it was so weird though because i had dinner before i went to try and prevent going low and went low anyway....that is so annoying
