Thanks for the link, Rach. I'm starting a walking program with a group of people from church Monday, Wednesday and fridays. I've been away from it much toooooooo long. Now I really need it. I accepted a request to work with the Primary (age 3-11) in church. I need much more energy for this. I am not old---I just feel like it. My energy level is way down and know from experience that walking is going to improve this.

I have been trying again to walk every day and to tell the truth, it is realing causing me a lot of pain. My hips, knee and feet hurt so bad! I keep hearing just keep it up and it will stop, but I push myself and it isn't getting any easier. Because I don't drive, I have always been a walker, just quit when the pain in my feet and hips became too much a few years ago. We are planning a couple of trips this summer and there will be a lot of walking, I was hoping to be able to do it. Maybe if I had a cane or walking stick???

Do you have a good pair of walking shoes?? That's the first thing I would consider... a new pair!

Supposed to be good walking shoes, but I don't find any difference between them and my old gym shoes. Just got back from my daily walk, and even managed a little more distance than yesterday, but the pain started before I got all the way home. I am determined to do this, pain or not. I am up to almost 30 minutes a day, but I am slow, hoping to be able to walk 5 miles by summer.

You're all welcome for the link... I just wanted to share the good info I found. I just bought another pair of new balance sneaks, I dunno if they're walking or running shoes but they feel pretty good.

As far as exercising goes, I just got myself an elliptical machine. I didn't realize how out of shape I was... My job has made me gain a lot of extra weight and I've gotten a lot lazier as far as physical activity goes. But I have made some fitness goals for myself and I'm determined to meet them.
