another foot question?

should newly diagnosed diabetics really worry about our feet like hangnails and stuff like that? or is this more of a long term complication?

It's more of a longterm complication. BUT, messing your feet up today is not a good idea, neither. You're a college-age guy, women don't like men with Hammertime in their toes.

As much as the next guy, but I wouldn't worry that it is the first sign of diabetic neuropathy or anything.

Dude, hangnails aren't necessarily good things, you should tend to them carefully, even if you were not diabetic. Don't go ripping them out, but try to trim them back so they don't get caught on anything, etc.

No worries........duck was joking (I think- we don't know each other that well ). Just check your feet like you would usualy, for hangnails, blisters, you know, general feet maintenence. it's not that big of a deal, just be aware.

Though my mom still freaks out if I am barefoot!!!!
