One year at Thanksgiving, my mom went to my sister's house for the traditional feast. Knowing how gullible my sister is, my mom decided to play a trick.

She told my sister that she needed something from the store.

When my sister left, my mom took the turkey out of the oven, removed the stuffing, stuffed a Cornish hen, and inserted it into the turkey, and re-stuffed the turkey. She then placed the bird(s) back in the oven.

When it was time for dinner, my sister pulled the turkey out of the oven and proceeded to remove the stuffing. When her serving spoon hit something, she reached in and pulled out the little bird.

With a look of total shock on her face, my mother exclaimed, 'Patricia, you've cooked a pregnant bird!' At the reality of this horrifying news, my sister started to cry.

It took the family two hours to convince her that turkeys lay eggs!

Yep.................SHE'S BLONDE!

Hi, All!

Went to the dentist this week. I have a cracked tooth. This weekend it was bothering me - I think some food was stuck in it. It stopped hurting on Sunday after rinsing & rinsing & rinsing with mouthwash. But, the pain got me off my butt & I found a dentist who could see me Tuesday.

#1 the dentist spent a whole 3 seconds looking in my mouth, decided I need anti-biotics & a root canal or extraction. The anti-biotics are because the pain "had to have been caused by an infection." Even though the pain went away on it's own.

#2 He saw that I had written on my forms that I am allergic to codeine. So, the dentist asked "what happens when you take codeine, does it just make you nautious or something?" Now, I'm not actually allergic in the classic sense, but I have such a severe side-effect that my doctor told me "Don't EVER take codeine or anything related to it again. It could cause you to have a heart attack. Just say you're allergic." So, I told him what happens & what I had been told. His response:"Have you tried Vicodin?" "No, because that's related to codeine." "Well, if you haven't tried it, maybe it will be ok..." and proceeds to tell the nurse to call in the Rx for the antibiotic & the vicodin. Yeah, because I want to *try* a medication that may just kill me. (Not to mention...as I said the pain had already gone away...)

So...I went to the pharmacy & explained the situation (which they agreed was stupid) and they added Vicodin & a note that I couldn't have *anything* related to Codeine as well as just Codeine to their allergy list for me. I just took the antibiotics home with me. However, I'm not sure I should even be taking them. There's no sign of an infection - no fever, no BS spikes (other than Fri & Sat which I'm sure were from the pain/change to diet because of pain,) no more pain...and as a (former) medical professional myself, I am educated in the dangers of taking AB's when they're not needed. **sigh** I haven't started them yet.

Long story short, I was waiting for something in my car for a long time tonight, and I was dumb enough to sit there with the lights on and the AC running. I heard a humming noise, so I turned the car off, trying to figure out what was causing it. I tried to turn the car back on, and it would not crank. It sounded like I was trying to turn over, but could not. I panicked and called my husband before trying to call a few friends who live closer to where I was than my husband was. About ten minutes later I tried to crank it again, and had no problems. What's even funnier is that I could not get my key fob to work for months... been having to lock and unlock manually. Imagine my surprise when my husband was able to use the key fob tonight after looking over my car himself lol.

So here's my question: does this sound like I partially drained the battery, or should I be planning to have someone look at it?

PS- there is an extremely long story for why I was there in the first place... let's just say Fedex is on my naughty list.

I can't stand when people tell me I can eat something when I know how crappy I will feel after eating it and having to battling with my levels.
Yes I chose not to eat things that will spike my levels and make me feel like c$%* when my sugar is high.
Argh!!!! This is coming from someone who really has no clue about living with diabetes.
