| | I'm Done My Laser Treatments!!! (I thought this deserved a new thread instead of lumping it into the old one....)
I'M DONE!!!!
Well, this 3rd treatment on my right eye, and 8th visit overall was the LAST ONE!! I'm not even sure how many zaps he did today. In my excitement about being done I forgot to ask. There was actually quite a bit of pain today, as well as some weird "shock-like" feelings on my eyeball (??) but my Extra Strength Tylenol did its job. It's hurting much less now.
He wants to see me again in 6 months just to see how my eyes are doing, but he said he's really not worried about them - especially since I'll be starting on the pump and should be able to get my bloodsugars down a fair bit more with that.
Thanks again for all the thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes. I'm happy to now be able to start putting this behind me.

| | | I had close to 900 zaps in my right eye with an Argon Laser (by a optamologist) to stop the bleeding in my eye. Then went to a retinologist that gave pretty darn near to 1000 with a Endo laser-it was a tough mama because they numbed by optical nerve befoe doing it and I was so glad! The pain hit me 4 or five hours later though. I can see good out of my right eye. I am going later this week to see an optomotrist to see if any corrections can be made. my long distance vision needs to be tweeked and reading continues to be a challenge. Before the Endo laser, i could get away with the +1.25 cheaters now I need +2.00 and the lighting has to be good for me to read the newspaper and phone books - I do say phone book pages are getting thiner and the print is getting smaller. |
