Question UK Driving licence problems after laser?

I am on the brink of needing some laser treatment for some cotton wool spots in one or both of my eyes.

Does anyone have any experience of what affect it has on your UK dirving licence?

Cheers
Andy

No, but I'd lay large money down that there will be no issue. The laser, even very large amounts of 3,000 plus, hardly ever impairs vision enough to affect driving. And then it's generally night time only. When you start having hemmhoraging and retina detachments, then you'll have something to worry about. Edema, swelling, can have major effects too.

Vision requirements on UK licenses aren't particularly strict. You just have to answer whether you can read a numberplate from 20m and whether or not you need corrective lenses.

When you fill in the medical questions that are sent you have to inform them you have had lazer treatment, depending on what your specialist says about your field of vision depends on what they do. Some people have to take a special eye test before their license is renewed. Have a look on the DVLA web site under medical conditions, that will give you more info.
Also your specialist should answer your questions too.
