I used to get "retina checkups" at a specialist in PA. He was the identical twin to Herman Munster...huge guy...very nice and very smart...I just couldn't get the "Herman" thing out of my mind!

All clear! No bleeders and no neo-vascularization. Good for another 2 months.

T2, diagnosed 8/31/06.
Byetta 5 mcg
HCTZ 12.5 mg every other day for BP
Enalapril 20 mg 1 daily (ace-inhibitor)
Lower carb dieter (approx. 75 total carbs/day, more on weekends), taking chromium, multivitamin and fish oil tablets


Initial A1C 8/06: 9.6
11/06: 6.2.
03/07: 5.3
06/07: 5.4
10/07: 5.3
05/08: 6.2 (right after dealing with shingles and bronchitis)

Good for you John.Just for my information how come you go every 2 months .Me my ophto sees me every year

That's wonderful news John. Hope in 2 months it's still good if not better.


I got a letter from my optho today. Had me scared at first. It contained a check for a partial refund of my co-pay that I paid at the first of December. Yay me !!!

Vitrectomy on 10/2006 and two peripheral bleeders this fall. I suppose I'm high risk for awhile longer. I didn't ask, but I think he wants to watch for any more bleeders. It doesn't cost me anything but inconvenience to see him.

He said great job on the sugars, it will really help 20 years from now. It feels ****ing awesome to know he expects problems down the road
