Very Frustrated

I woke up a few days ago, turned the light on, and what do I see: a broken blood vessel in my left eye. I had just been to my eye doctor less then a month ago, and she said that I was at the very early stages of a leakage (I have a long history of retinothapy). Due to excellent medical services that we have here, I already saw my doctor and had an F/A. Right now I am waiting for the results, and hopefully I will just need laser treatment to repair the problem. Like all of us know, it is so frustrating living with this **** disease.

Markr:

I sincerely hope all goes well and it is just a broken blood vessel and nothing more.

I'm terrified of losing eyesight or a limb. I have screaming nightmares about it.

THANKFULLY my eyes have been checked, rechecked, and re-rechecked (they even stuck needles inside my eyes and extracted fluid! YUCK!) -- and I just have bad eyesight and not a trace of renopathy.

However, the neuropathy has started work on my optic nerves.

Best of luck to you and I'm sending good vibes your way!!

Thankyou Dave, I wonder how you are doi'n? I have come to get used to my seeing disability and so buy keeping a good A1C happinin I may see some good days and to understand this disease would take a lecture at a university and now looking at my weight and see some pounds of me. So with some education at the D.A.F.N.E. course I may get to do this safely loose this and not get lows too much as this is all discipline.

Mark,

I hope it's nothing more than a broken blood vessel. I got one of those on my first day at a new job a few years ago. Everybody thought I had an eye condition and just accepted it. When it finally went away, people thought I'd had some special treatment.

Anyway, those things can just happen, and it means nothing really. Best of news to you . . . .

At least they caught it early. I've been through three now and one minor edema years ago. I hope you are working at your BG control. It's about the only way we can battle this on our own. The technology is so amazing. I know it's scary as ****, but they can do so much nowadays.

Mark,
I'm sorry, I don't understand just what you are going through, but I do wish strength for you in dealing with this. It's nice there are others on this forum who have been through similar things. They can be a lot of your support. Please let us know what you find out. You are a valuable forum member.

Cheers,
