| There is no question that you should see your doctor as soon as possible. It may well be nothing to worry about, but it could also be a sign of diabetic retinopathy or other serious problems. I feel very strongly about this because my husband, who died last year of complications of diabetes, was blind for the last couple of years of his life as a result of diabetic retinopathy. It is very treatable if it's caught early and, in your case, with your recent diagnosis, it shouldn't be a serious problem, but it's nothing to fool around with and you should certainly have it checked now.
