Well after a 3 hour wait I blew my Doctors mind. I was 20/50 the day after surgery which he has never seen or heard of. Woo Hoo for me. So no I'll start my regiment of drops and see him again next week but he said all is clear on the northern front. As always thanks for the support and encouragement. I would have to say at this point the worst part is the itching....Grrrrr!

I think I was 20/60 but it might have been 20/40. It was a non-event. I'm a wonky 20/20 now

The worst part right now is the itching. All the drops are pretty easy. It's hard for me to take it easy, now that I can see I want to go do stuff. Ahh all in good time.

Do you have stitches or was it the new sutureless procedure? Itching says stitches to me.

I couldn't agree more with both of those comments. The itching was insane! I all but tied my hands together when I'd go to bed. I was afraid I'd scratch and rub it all night. The stitches got worse before they got better for me. One day the inside of my eyelid keep bleeding, as it had been rubbed raw. A cold compress made it feel so much better. That itching should be gone within a week or so.

I'm glad there were no major issues and your vision improves with each follow up appointment!

It's been almost a year since my first one, I go back to the doc next month and hopefully I'll get the all clear for another 3 months. It may have been easier than dealing with the laser, but I don't want to do either any time again soon.

Today will be my 1 week check up, I'll let you all know what happens. My vision is different, it's kinda like a cheesy movie dream scene bright and hazy. I wonder if that's from being permenantly dialated for the last week. Ahh I guess I'll find out later.

One week out and I'm 20/30 woohoo! I do have some distortion from the stitches but as my eye heals that should go away. Next check up is in 3 weeks.

All done Chris we're going to wheel you into recovery now!

That was it, off I went to Tim Hortons and rested the the rest of the day. The itching is driving me crazy but I go for my post op apt in about 2 hours so I'll get the low down then. The Doc did tell my wife that all went well and there was no damage so he just vaccumed out and topped me off. Thanks for the support everyone and I'll let you know what I find out later.
-Chris
I'm jealous-- I was awake for mine.

They covered me completely except for the eye.
Gave me a little something in the IV to relax me and an injection in the eye to deaden it. After that My vision was gone except for the good eye under the sheet.
I listened to my doctor talk to me and sing hymns. I was not to move a muscle during the procedure.

I did not get a patch just gauze and tape.

I took my covering off to early because my eyelashes were moving across the gauze and driving me crazy.

Now after many about 10 years, I see a different shade of blue when looking though the lens of a video camera. WEIRD
