| | | Floaters in the eyes Hi All,
Need your help about the floaters in the eyes.
I see floaters in my left eye. Those sometimes come and sometimes vanish. I had done by diabetese ratinopath check (dilated eyes examination) twice but doctor told me know no problem. There is no increase in the floaters since they appeared first and does not cause any major obstruction in my eye sight.
When I was diagnosed with diabetes, I had done the ratinopathy checkup. After 3 months of starting the treatment, my A1C came down from 9.4 to 6.2. At this point of time, I used to feel lot of pressure in my eyes and after some days saw these floaters. When I asked my doc, he said those are due to variation in blod glucose and those will disappear over period of time. Again after one year, I had my eyes checked and doctor reported no problem though I see those floaters.
Any information on this?

| | | Floaters are common. I've had them most all my life and just diagnosed with Type 2 a couple months ago.
They come and go, some seem quite large and then seem to go away. I've alway been told not to worry. |

| | | I've noticed floaters in my vision as well. Not all the time but definitely every now and then. They almost look like amoebas or something you would see under a microscope. |

| | | I've had floaters for as long as I can remember. I think they are quite common, esp. in those of us who do a lot of computer work.

| | | I get them every so often. I have one in my right eye. I had my eyes dilated exam in January and the doctor said they were fine and I got new glasses. I wouldn't worry too much. |

| | | Floaters are VERY common, and not necessarily (but can be) related to diabetes. I did research when I first started getting them. There does not seem to be much you can do about them, and my eye doc claims they are no big deal, nothing to be worried about. She did NOT attribute them to diabetes either...

| yup, my eye Dr. is the one who "Caught" my Diabetes and she and I keep close eye on where I am, but she, PCP and CDE all indicate they're nothing to fret over as long as eye exams are good.

| | I have floaters. Some times, when under stress, they seem worse but nothing I can't live with. My optho said they can show up in diabetics as well as non diabetics. He says not to worry, so I don't.
