Lasik Surgery and Diabetes?

Hi everyone, I have had T1 for 10 years now, and have been wearing glasses since I was in the 3rd grade, contacts since 8th grade. I'm 25 now, and as you can imagine, my eyesight is pretty bad, regardless of the diabetes factor. has anyone had lasik surgery to correct their eyesight, and is diabetic? I want to be able to wake up and see the clock every morning!! (doesn't everyone?!?!)

Have you investigated the pros and cons of this? I might be wrong, but I would have though they would have been dubious about giving the proceedure to a diabetic.

I have investigated the pros and cons, but my doctors don't seem to say either way whether it's recommended or not for diabetics. all they have said against it to me is that it would take a little bit longer for me to heal, but nothing drastic. and with so many advances in the surgery every week it seems, they seem to be able to fix more and more problems with the eyes.
