Bleeding again

Lefty let go tonight. *sigh*

My sugars have been real good the last couple of weaks, and I was feeling good about my control. It's funny that I'm feeling upbeat even though there's a significant amount of blood in the eye. I'll call The Grunter first thing. I think it's too cloudy to laser. Vision is probably around 20/200 in the eye, maybe worse.

That's no good John, I thought that my BG's were good but as I have found that to meny lows can create problems for the eyes too so we have to look at mantaining a good BG so no matter how your BG's are we unfortunenatly cop it.
I have most of my bleeds in the right eye. I'm so sorry John, I know how you feel as you have been good BG's and this happens.

I haven't had laser as I am too poor to have such.

Hello george, To have an eye to bleed is like a moving black dot and some big bleeds can let you go blind for months on end then if all go's well you may get to see with it as the blood get's to settle up the eye.
Laser will put plug up the bleeds and then may get more.

Good BG management is the best to perseve your sight and any sergery is not perfect. Anyone for a carrot.

Hi.
Sorry John to hear about your eyes and the bleeds. It is a real p****r to have something like this happen when you have been keeping tight control.(seems to be the nature of the beast(diabetes)

I haven't had laser as I am too poor to have such.
Peter,
Every time I have had laser they bulk billed me for it and that was before I was on my husbands health care card. Maybe it depends on the optomologist. Worth looking into.

I have had laser a few times not to fix any bleeds but to stop them from occuring.

Darn John - things seemed to be going real well in that regard. Hope the Grunter?? can help. Assume that Grunter is colloquial for some kind of doc, yes? We Americans are so slow in that regard....

They aim the laser at the leak rather than the mess, right? Does taking a break from staring at the computer help at all?

Sorry to hear this John... D really sucks when you do everything to maintain good control only to find out there are no guarantees.

"There's definately blood in there *grunt* There's not a lot of it *grunt* *grunt*"

They got me in right away, but it was a bit too cloudy for him to identify a source. He wants to see me next Tuesday after it's cleared a bit. I could just barely read the top line of the chart. No lifting, bending, or strenuous acitivities. He said I could keep up my lunchtime walking, but no hills and no increased heart rate.

Sugar damages blood vessels. The eye has the finest blood vessels in the body. There's a host of problems that can occur. This is likely a small vessel on the periphery that busted open. If he can find it, he'll use laser to cauterize it. They can cause problems if untreated. My appointment three weeks ago was excellent with no visible signs of damage.

really sorry to hear this John, I guess the solace you can take though, is that your good numbers have probably saved you from it being worse than it is...
I am glad you keep up on things and don't lose heart, hopefully this will clear up soon, I am thinking good thoughts for you....

There seam to be good evidence in not to stress the body to certail the bleeding in the eye as I have well notest that!!

Yes Ricky, I have beed told many years ago that to loose all that weight that we carry around will have vast inprovements over the eye desiese that we had to have. Low carbing is getting better all the time.
