| That's a hard one to describe--The best advice would be to go to the opthamologists and ask them for a brochure or pamphlet on eye diseases: invariably these things have a pic of the healthy retina, and then show examples of macular degeneration, detached retina, diabetic retinopathy, etc.
Basically, a healthy retina (in the pics) looks like a bunch of red blood vessels of varying sizes on a white/pinkish background...
