I went to the eye Doctor and was examined for glasses back in March. Since I was not testing at that time, I don't know what my BGL was. I had to wait until the first part of June before I could afford my glasses and now they seem to make my vision worse.

Is it possible that my BGL went up in between the time of the examined the time I got my glasses? And if so, should I wait until I get my BGL under control before being examined again.

Sorry, I can't give any advice for long-term care, but I can't see without my cheapie $8 glasses I got (and subsequently broke!) yesterday from Wal-Mart. I was dxd only a week ago, and my doc told me this may last a couple of weeks.

I've always had 20-10 vision, but now, since I've been dxd, I can't read what I'm typing.

From experience, you must have your blood sugar levels under control for quite some time before getting glasses. Tell me, are you seeing an ophthalmologist too?

From what I understand you should have your BS's under control for a good 4-6 weeks before getting new glasses. I have been wearing glasses for 25 years and around the middle of May my vision started getting real blurry and I found myself not needing glasses at all for a while. I was diagnosed with T2 on June 15th and went to the eye doctor the next day and she wouldn't even hear of making me a new pair of glasses until my BS's were under control. Now almost 10 days later my vision is changing again. I can wear my glasses at little bit when I watch TV, but it'll get blurry after a little while. I still can't read with them yet.
My doctor told me she could give me a $30 pair of contacts if my distance vision starts giving me trouble before I can get under control (which it's beginning to). I'm going to see an opthalmologist ASAP to get a specialist opinion.

I must not be since I don't even know what that is. I will ask my Dr. about a referal.
