Wasted time at the retina specialist.....

After being put through that tough day at court I was due back at my retina specialist's office to get rid of that worry I had about the blur in my right eye being the MS or just my retinopathy. I was given an appt for 1 pm, after MANY complaints, I was still not seen at 4pm. I told them I had to go because this was just ridiculous, why give an appointment to me, they acted as my appt was given on Emergency status. Well thank god I wasnt bleeding outta my retina then.. I was very bothered, wasted too much time for absolutely NOTHING!.
Im looking for someone else to at least look at my eye......

OK Im done venting... lol

Thanks everyone...
Im headed there today at 2pm. I have developed a small floater (spider-like) and I have no idea what that can be, but I am desperate to see him at this point. I now have the missy's name that gave me that endless appointment, that I never got to go thru with .

I will let u all know as soon as I get back!

I say send the DR a bill for YOUR time lost. They bill us if we don't tell them 24hours prior that we can't make it, don't know why we can't bill them

There is always emergencies that come up for doctors as well as patients. But I hate it when they don't communicate with you. I like the "I'm sorry we are so far behind. The Dr. was called out on an emergency. We could reschedule you. If that won't work, let me give you an estimated time and you can come back." I especially like it when they talk to me before I've flagged up to them to find out if they forgot me. A LITTLE COMMON CONSIDERATION PLEASE!!!
Cinn, you have just been through too much lately. I'm so sorry. Hope things go well today. We're anxiously awaiting news from you today. Try to do something nice for yourself today.

Sadly this is all too common. What is just as sad is that we(patients) cannot just decide to change doctors, not always. We live in a situation where we are lucky to have health insurance and then we are usually stuck with the doctors they want us to see - if we don't have insurance then we cannot afford to just go somewhere else. Carol Reiner was asked about why he put up with some problem, early shows of his, the tv network was giving him he answered something like, "I didn't have what I call 'screw you money back then', I had to work. Well, most of us are in similar positons - we have to watch what we spend and there isn't enough to make changes in doctors, the specialists being so expensive and take such a long time to get in to see.

Im back..... I was given the VIP treatment!!!!!!!!

Hey all............

Im back, I guess they knew I was gonna raise He--!!LOL

Well, I saw my specialist and waited till he examined me till I mentioned the MS. He saw the cataracts more on the right eye than anything. Initially, this was the very bad eye. He told me NOT to use those drops and gave me better ones. He explained the trouble Im seeing is some leaking (bleeding) in that eye and some Lasers are needed, but very little.
My site is good .

Then, I asked him if he was able to see my optic nerve and how did it look? He stated that he saw a lil problem due to the Retinapathy, but nothing more. When he was done, I told him of the MS and everything that I had tested and that I wanted a 2nd opinion. He told he'd say its Neuropathy and NOT MS. GOD!!! Please hear him!
He mentioned something about being able to see the neuropathy in my eyes... (not sure of this).

Well, Im just happy to hear that my vision is being impaired by the blood and not the MS.

I'm glad they treated you well this time & you were given better drops. That's great news that your vision is not being impaired by the MS as the leaking can be stopped with a little laser (& you know you can deal with the laser don't you, lol).

I do think you need to get a 2nd opinion on the Neuropathy diagnosis because you know only too well from experience that things can be missed/misdiagnosed etc. Heck it's so bad when you get conflicting advice from professionals isn't it!!

Hang in there Cinn, go see someone else & only stop when YOU are happy things are getting treated properly. Keep us posted plse.
