| | | i have type 1 and think i may be pregnant hello all....
its been awhile since my last post...blood sugars are doing MUCH better. all have been under 200 (my loose goal) for about a month now. well something new has cropped up into the scene. i think i may be pregnant. ive sort of excused the sypmtoms for a week now but when i look back and count the days, im about a week late and have EVERY symptom in the book except a positive home pregnancy test. also the past week or two my blood sugars have been wacky and i have been taking WAY more insulin then i ever thought i would need just to cover a meal. now i know things can happen like stress, illness, lots of things. i guess im a little nervous and excited and not quite sure what to do. should i call my dr tomorrow? wait a week? help please?!?!? |

| | Contact your doctor ASAP. During the first 3 months, it is CRITICAL to have good BG control since that is when the baby is forming. I have had my pre-pregnancy check with the high-risk endo and he has asked me to call as soon as I get a positive pregnancy test.
Good luck! I hope to join you soon. |

| | | Yeah I would call for an appointment... Tell them you aren't going to pee in a cup either you want a blood test... sometimes it shows up there before the urine.. That's how my friend found out she was prego...
Good Luck... I hope this is what you want... Be really careful with your BG's keep up with your folic Acid.....{if you are allowed to take that.}
Geez, I already feel like an Aunt.... LOL... |

| | | All the doc is going to make you do to confirm is take a HOME PREGNANCY TEST, except you will be in the doctor's office. If you don't trust one brand over another, get two.

| | The rule of thumb for the home tests is that a negative isn't always a negative...But a positive is always a positive.
When my wife first got pregnant, that color-indicator turned "positive" IMMEDIATELY. No doubt. We called the doc because I was freaked out and wanted the doctor's confirmation...She said forget it, you're pregnant. Congrats and make your check-up appointment ASAP.
With my second son, my wife did the test and the color...almost stayed the same. Almost no change. So we weren't sure. Duck went out and bought two other different kinds. Same deal. Weird. The wife made an appointment, but it was going to be a few days. The next day she bought another test (same as the initial brand) and now the indicator was a different color, but again not the immediate change...after an hour, it was completely changed. And yeah, nine months later turned out to be right. So...

| | | Progesterone (a hormone present in the second half of your menstrual cycle) can make you have all the symptoms associated with pregnancy (sore bbs, sensitivity to smells, nausea, etc.) |

| | | Your period until you ovulate is the first part of your cycle. The second part, called the Luteal phase, is between when you ovulate and the day you get your next period.
In the first part, the active hormones are Estrogen, LH and FSH. Once you ovulate, the active hormone becomes progesterone. That's the hormone which can make you have pregnancy symptoms. |
