got my first ultrasound done!

Well i got my ultrasound done yesturday. the baby is about 7cm long, so according to that im 7 weeks along. The due date is sept 4th, but she said they would induce me in august since i am high risk, and most diabetic pregnancys don't go full 40 wks. we also heard and saw the heartbeat. it was amazing. it was going so fast. i feel better now seeing that there is a baby and everything is normal and healthy. just thought id let you all know!

How great that you got to see "the little one." Amazing, isn't it? I'm glad things are going well for you. The time will pass so quickly and Aug. will be here before you know it. Hope you're keeping a "pregnancy journal" so you (and baby) can re-live this experience through the years.

congrats! It is so fun going to see the ultrasounds...I loved every one. I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well and we'll all look forward to seeing pictures come August/September.

Congrats on the ultrasound and on seeing the little peanut.

I hate it when OBs say that they'll induce people early because diabetic pregnancies don't "last as long"...ugh. Wanna bet? I went overdue with two of my kids.

Personally, I'm a "let nature take it's course" type of person, and not in to a lot of medical intervention when it comes to having my babies. I know that I'm way out of the norm in that thinking though... LOL

HAHA! tobe honest i won't mind being induced early as long as the baby is ready, the sooner it gets out the better...haha! its only my first trimester and im already umconfy and sick and tired...haha! its going to be a long nine months

Great news Talibrown! I remember that awesome excitement. Now, my first born is bigger than me! Weird. I agree with PrincessLinda - make sure that you keep a journal of all your feelings, cravings etc. because it is fun to look back! (plus, if you end up having more than one child, you'll start to mix up the details!) I also kept little keepsakes, like the hospital band that they wrap around the baby's wrist, a newspaper from the day of your baby's birth etc. Lots of fun! Best wishes to you!

Congratulations! There is nothing like seeing that first ultrasound. For my second, the doctors told me that they would start checking around 36-37 weeks to see if he was ready to come out. They wanted to keep a close eye to prevent any complications. There are no guarantees with any pregnancy but we do have to watch closer. I was told I wouldn't go past my due date, which was nice to know.

To me, it is nice to know and hopefully catch the complications. With both my boys, me fluid level started to decrease enough that they wanted them out. The first wasn't bad because he wasn't far from my due date, 18 days.
My second they noticed the decrease at 35 weeks and didn't want him coming out just yet. I was put in the hospital for the night and given fluids and sent home on "bed rest". More of a take it very easy but can get up. Hard part was my husband works nights. Good part my oldest was 9 years old, closer to 10 and I didn't have to "watch" him like I would a toddler and he was a tremendous help. I lasted one more week and the fluid level was worst. Couldn't do an amnio because fluid level so low so out he came and hasn't stopped since. He was exactly 4 weeks early but perfect. Other than his sucker didn't want to work right away.

Anyway I didn't want to scare you just let you know that because of the watchful eye of the doctors involved, my sons were perfect. It gets to be a pain going to the doctors constantly, but it is worth it.

Just wanted to give you a different put of view and hopefully it will help some.

Enjoy and get lots of rest. Your life will never be the same, it will be so much better.

Congrats on the good results. We also had our first ultra sound at about 7 weeks. Can't wait for the next one. BTW, my wife is due August 25th, so we may both have our new bundles of joy around the same time...

Yes, keep track of everything - I can't remember anything any more. This should be one of the most amazing things you'll ever do, enjoy yourself and don't worry.

August eh?.... hhhmmmm.... August 14th I guess would be too soon for you then... **** it...
I was suppose to have been born on Friday the 13th but the doctor didn't deliver me until a little after midnight...
{ My Mami remembers every minute of that too... } ooops...!

I wonder if it's a girl....
