I have a friend (ok, well more acquaintance) who just failed her one hour glucose test during pregnancy.
She posted it on facebook, and said she will retake it on Thursday...
saying "
maybe she will fast this time"
I let her have it. I can only tolerate so much. Some of her other friends also suggested fasting before this test.
Here is what went down....
*** FRIEND replied to her own post about failing****
yeah i think i'll go back on Thur and do the 3 hour test after fasting this time.

I also failed the first test but then past the second.

Lots of women fail the first one...maybe you should fast before the next one.

Umm, fasting should be a regulated part of the test. You should call your Dr. or Lab first. It is better to fail and get it taken care of properly, than mess with test procedures and have a false negative result. It may make you feel better short term, but that does no good for you or baby long term. If you purposely manipulate the outcome by not following pre-set fasting/non-fasting procedures, then what is the point of even taking it?
I hope I wasn't TOO harsh, but I did want to send a clear message. I am not easily riled up, but this definitely ruffled my feathers.
now, with that being said, I have never been pregnant, so what do you think. Should I stay with my big girl **ahemm** under clothing assets, or do I need to apologize..???
Thanks
