| | | Hi Iamary and Momofthree and welcome. When I was diet/exercise only, I was sent to a nutritionist. They helped me make a menu that worked with the meals I made for my family. I have been counting carbs for a while though, and it seems to work better than anything else. I still get bored sometimes, but mostly eat what I want(except for high carb food), just watch the portion sizes.

| | | Welcome iamary ....
I found that spicing up the old recipes can make a world of difference. For example .... a simple cheeseburger can be topped and grilled with
1) green chile peppers (or Jalopenos if you are adventurous). Green Chiles are HUGE in the south west US .... They also spice up a breakfast burrito.
2) Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato Slices and basil for a fresh garden Italian twist
3) A coarse black pepper rub makes a tasty tangy burger.
Experiment with your favorite spices/herbs .... if that sounds good to you, then an herbal container garden might also be of interest to ya.

| | | Welcome.
Nothing to feer. I think most of us vets will agree that you can quickly become not only used to tasting bland foods but actually preferring them. For example, I can't eat such foods as branded peanut butter or sugared pop. Not that I wouldn't, they are just too sweet and make me want to hoof em. I don't use salad dressing any more, hardly any salt, no sugar on cereal. I'm very fond of multigrain breads. If I was cured tomorrow, my diet wouldn't change. |
