| | | Hello Hello there,
I am a 63 year old Type II diabetic, living in Tracy, California with my lovely wife Suzanne. We are empty nesters, although our daughter lives only 1 mile away with our two grandchildren, Both very smart and champion swimmers.
My biggest problem is neuropathy in my feet causing much pain after standing or walking for awhile. Would dearly love to find a solution! Is it shoes or medicine?

| | | Welcome to the forum Denny,
I have no knowledge about neuropathy - someone will jump in with some information to get the conversation started. I have heard that nerve damage can be reversed in some cases - though it takes a long time for the nerves to re-grow(if that is the correct term) That takes quite good blood glucose control over a extended period of time. The nerves only re-grow at a very slow rate and the feet are so far from where the nerves start. Well, all my knowledge on this subject is now public. |

| | Hi Denny and welcome to the forum. If you get an answer about your feet, let me know. I have tried everything, except medication, which my doctor seems reluctant to prescribe. The thing that helps me most is a foot massage, when I can talk the hubby into doing it. Also, sometimes putting a huge amount of Vaseline on them and wearing thick, soft socks. Even that is just short term relief.

| | | So far, the only thing I've found that will help with the problem is Carbatrol and I don't think it helps much.

| | Hi Denny, it's nice to see you here. I haven't had much experience
with neuropathy. Keeping your blood sugar in good control is of course
the best way to possibly reverse some of the neuropathy. You probably
noticed some helpful products mentioned in the Neuropathy thread. I hope
that you find some relief for the pain you are experiencing. Your Family
sound like Terrific People. I'm Happy to hear that. Welcome to our
Community.

Hi Denny,
I don't think I am allowed to post websites in here so I won't. But there is a lady in my church who had apparently a similar problem. She is now using a product which seems to have helped her considerably.
if you want more information on this product, contact me for the name and websites etc.
