Smile Hey, I'm New Here

Hello, a friend recommended this site so i joined. I have been T1 for 42 years and am now thinking about going on a pump. I am on three shots of Apidra a day and on Levemir twice a day. So far this board looks very interesting and full of information. I'm sure I'll learn alot of new things.

Hi Lizzy and Welcome to the house that Tony built. I've been a T1 since 1984 and I have learned a lot since joining this forum 2 years ago. Stick around and we will all learn some new things together. Sorry you have to be here but we are glad to have you.
Is the friend who recommended this site a member here? If so, let us know so we can thank this person.

Hi Lizzy

I'm so glad you found us . I'm sure after having Diabetes for 42 years, you'll have a lot of good information to share with us...and, hey, you may learn a thing or two here too as well .

There are a great deal of pumpers on the forums... I am a MM Paradigm 511 pumper- have been for the last 3 or so years. My experience has been pretty mixed, but I'm still at it, so that must tell you something. Anyway, feel free to jump right in with your questions, we'll be happy to help .

Hope we'll see you visitng often

So, you've had diabetes since 1964? I developed it in 1968. I still remember parts of my two weeks in the hospital. Now when you have open heart surgery you only stay a few days. Things sure have changed.

Hi Lizzy

Glad you found us. I'm sure you can teach us a lot since you've lived with diabetes for so long.

I've read a lot about pumps on this Forum. I'm Type 2 so I only take Metformin but it's still interesting to learn about pumps even though I don't need one. I'm sure you'll find a lot of info and support about using a pump here
